Brief History
The National Association of Women Judges Nigeria (NAWJN) was established to address the unique challenges faced by women in the judiciary and to advocate for gender equality within the legal system. Founded by a group of visionary women judges, the association has grown into a vibrant network of judicial professionals committed to enhancing the role of women in the justice sector. Over the years, NAWJN has played a significant role in legal reforms, capacity building, and community advocacy.
NAWJN exists to promote the professional development of women judges, foster gender equity in the judiciary, and ensure access to justice for marginalised groups. The association serves as a platform for mentorship, advocacy, and collaboration, empowering women judges to lead with integrity, inspire change, and contribute meaningfully to advancing the rule of law in Nigeria.
